I, of the dark clay

Image
I won’t paint myself white I, of the dark clay And my pottery too I will touch my works And say my words In the feel of the rough And the tone of the Mara lion For I come from the dark clay land And I don’t need a white heart Nor do I want the art To paint myself white I, of the dark clay. Us

Image
Things fell apart then when we decidedly endorsed, right there at the source, a river between Us At inception Of the cornered camouflaged commission In a quest for equation We chose to use division To form a parted union Two teams bore a referee so collectively disintegrated in the watch of a deceived religion and we cheated fate Then; Now we are on karma, And mortality faces the reincarnation of hate and smells red iron the smell of red raw blood. It is a tough test of echoing ego facing selfish selflessness, Madness against ruthlessness in the watch of a deceived religion. We only look up to the Almighty the Creator to re-create us; Us to renew the unity The Us, We the people. For we are at a red road where the red soil soaks blood and the red horizon beckons with a ghostly glance in the watch of a deceived religion that's smartly dressed in expensive cloaks and dumbly ready to dance to our dirges we who are at the altar of the elite congregation that paid early for...

Bleaching

Image
Bleaching of the skin might cause cancer of the skin of Africans but it is the bleaching of the mind that is the most tragic; it causes Africa's stunted growth from which all cancers might be emanating. Africa is beautiful We are losing her And her skin tells it all And the mind too And glorification of the snow at the peak At the expense of the mountain beneath We are doing to labour What we did to 'chondos' The African baskets; And coffee And cocoa; Importing pollution Exporting green, Reducing our education Sticking to the screen We need a revolution  Against our perception. Me to you, One before others

Failure to know yourself better, who you are and what you are and at the same time try to wish being like someone else is a good example of poor prioritization of wants. Let's usher in the weekend with a need for self love, appreciation and need for self improvement based on our strengths and weaknesses versus available opportunities. Maurice

Rich/Poor Oliech

Image
The world has become a global village. A person in Russia talks to a person in South Africa in some few seconds over the various Internet media. Buying a good from the United States by someone in Australia is a reality. Same is the situation as regards culture, beliefs, language, thoughts and policies. The interaction with the various forms of social, cultural and economic ideas and practices, either physically or through literature and/or the Internet is what guides my thought on these two words: Rich Poor Rich Cambridge defines this word in a manner that tells you that the word cannot be defined in itself fully without attaching it to a particular thing or aspect. I chose this definition simply because it is the one that truly resembles the truth about the word's use; as an adjective.  Poor The same dictionary defines poor as lack of material possession so in other words it is the opposite of rich. The recent debate in Kenya, propelled just from a per...

Shed a Tear and learn from it

Image
There is much grief, pain and tears in problems one faces on this earth I have come to realize. However, the greatest tragedy is having learnt nothing from the situation even after shedding tears. It becomes double loss; of tears and of the opportunity to learn. Right your wrongs, enrich your rights, take challenges as lessons. There's a great difference between your existence and your life. Existence is occupying space. Living is having an influence over your surrounding, impacting. However, trees also live. What is the difference between us and the trees? We are conscious of our existence and life. We can feel, smell, see, hear. We can actually move to a good thing and move away from a bad thing. Solomon prayed for one thing from God, wisdom to know the good from the bad. That's all. Even science can tell you that the energy that can be(is) used for good can be(is) used for a bad thing too. Choose whether to focus your mental strength on the past tears or the future op...
